"...the Imago has highs to die for. Imaging...is equally stunning..."

"Since this is the loudspeaker issue, I thought, why not put it up front and start with the most exotic of the issue. You know, the best of the best, the creme of the crop, zee beeg enchilada.

"The Imago was a natural choice. Its entire design is a portrait in controlled acoustics, wherein, the rear wave of each driver is attended to and treated with tender loving care so that the forward wave (what you actually hear) is as perfect as Roy Johnson can make it.

"The Imago uses a modified soft dome Dynaudio D-28 tweeter which covers the upper mids and lower highs. From there on up (8,500 Hz) the ribbon super-tweeter kicks in, being perfectly integrated, and laying down a high frequency filigree that no metal dome tweeter on the face of the earth can come close to matching, regardless of cost...the Imago has highs to die for...Imaging on the sonic stage is equally stunning..."

"The Imagos make most of them sound silly..."

"I am now experiencing the best sound I have ever had in my system. Other contenders that have been through here: Von Schweikert, Montana by PBN, Magnepan, Alon, Meadowlark, Reimer, Silverline, Usher, and Totem. As you can see, there have been a few. The Imagos make most of them sound silly..."

Imago_Florida"I am once again in sound heaven..."

(upgrade) "Thanks for the fine job you did in upgrading my Imagos. I am once again in sound heaven and an excited kid again, playing as many recordings as I can find time for. The speakers' modified fit and finish give them a renewed look and their incredible, realistic sound is even slightly improved with the new speakers and crossover improvements you installed."

"Thank you very much for a job well done, this is more than I expected."

(upgrade) "I'm in heaven! This upgrade is awesome, you should hear these babies sing, and I expect it's going to get better in the next few weeks as the surrounds get "flexed" out a bit more and the highs smooth out even more. But it's already a delight. The thing I notice most is how much more dynamic the enclosures are compared to before, and this without added harshness. The sound stage and depth are also improved. You've given them a second lease on life, worth every penny. Thank you very much for a job well done, this is more than I expected. I'm going to keep these for quite a while I believe.

Imago_Quebec "I recently had the chance to hear a pair of Wilson Watt Puppies (which I've always salivated for) with virtually the same electronics driving them as my set up and I would not trade my Imagos for them. The Imagos sound better, more like the real thing, the response is flatter and the tonal balance is more natural. The Wilsons are impressive when you first hear them but after a while they can tire you. With the Imagos I can listen at moderately high volume for 2-3 hours without fatigue. When you can nail down voices, piano and violin like these can, the rest follows. Pure listening joy."

(P.S.) "I really enjoy the Imagos even more since I got the crossover upgrade [to Series V]. They're fantastic, the tonal accuracy is awesome. I've had many comments from other listeners that the voices sound so real it's like the singer is there in the room with his/her microphone. An audiophile friend of mine who owns a new pair of Sophias from Wilson Audio finds the Imagos very hard to resist and not tiresome to listen to for hours."
